Passive intervention and prevention strategies (PIPS)

PIPS training is aimed at all staff working in primary schools, secondary schools, special schools and alternative provisions. It aims to support staff in developing a consistent, effective and acceptable team approach to managing behaviour, while, crucially, maintaining positive relationships and minimising risk for all.

This training offers a modular and flexible training package which supports school staff to prevent, reduce and manage crisis situations. This includes the use of passive physical intervention strategies that not only keep everyone safe, but also ensure that staff are able to continue to care in difficult circumstances, whilst supporting children and young people and helping them with their emotions at what is a difficult time for them.
