In recent years, acts of violence committed by those who subscribe to incel ideology have become regular occurrences in North America, Canada, and more recently, the UK, fuelling a growing concern and uncertainty over this online subculture and its offline impact. This talk will provide an overview of the nature of incels, their ideology, and how individuals can become radicalised by it. This will include an overview of the first multi-platform analysis of incel online spaces and conclude with a discussion of how incels are current viewed as part of the security and policing landscape in the UK.
