Leading inclusive learning communities conference programme

Conference programme

09:30  Welcome and introduction - Jack Newton, interim Deputy Director and Head of inclusion and learning, Devon County Council

09:50  How do Schools become the agents for change in their communities? - Sir David Carter

The fact that schools collaborate is not a new concept. The challenge however remains to take this further and to deepen our willingness to take care of every child in the community irrespective of where they go to school. This presentation will look at building stronger cultural roots to accelerate inclusion, will explore what strong families of schools actually deliver and what inclusion might mean we the system develops in the coming years. At the heart of this is the school improvement strategy that must incorporate inclusive thinking at its core, and not as an additional objective to address.
