09:10  Save the Planet AND Save ££s! - Will Ewens, Climate Action Advisor, Let’s Go Zero

Schools have huge potential when it comes to climate action, but it might sometimes feel like the only ways to really make a difference involve spending lots of money.

Will Ewens is a Climate Action Advisor at Let’s Go Zero, who works with schools in the South West to help them to find ways to reduce emissions, improve nature and biodiversity on school sites, as well as save money. In this session Will will explore the no- and low-cost climate actions that schools can take, to help reduce emissions and costs.

10:00  Early Years and Childcare Funding and Sufficiency - Marie Stone, Early Years Accountant and Fran Butler, Early Years and Childcare Sufficiency Lead

We will explain, the changes to early years funding for children from 9 months, about the capital funding available for expanding nursery places and the revenue funding to set up before and after school provision. By the time we see you the Autumn Budget Speech will have happened…. We will share with you the latest policy changes, opportunities that can be taken by schools and the reasons why doing nothing is not an option.
