Devon County Council has commissioned a number of SEND Online Training Modules, including modules within the SEN 100 Project (free of charge for Devon schools and agencies working with children and young people with SEND)
We worked with parents, carers and young people to find out, what they would expect us to know and understand, in order to create this introduction for all staff working with children and young people in Devon. This is a short course designed for everyone working with children, young people and families and is ideal for new staff induction.
This is a foundation level course designed to support all practitioners who work with children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities, and their families. This module focuses on the importance of building constructive relationships which promote trust and co-operation, of communicating effectively – to understand as well as to be understood. Finally, it looks at the importance of having a graduated response, early identification and statutory assessment.
A series of 6 online training modules (one per half term) to support a graduated response focused in developing confidence in supporting a range of special educational needs in a mainstream setting. The training materials are designed to support all staff working in mainstream settings and have been developed in conjunction with the Educational Psychology Service. These specialist modules use a blended model of interactive content, information delivery, video content and best practice examples.
