Carnegie Medal for illustration celebration event

We are delighted to announce that the Devon School Library Service will be holding a Carnegie Medal for Illustration Celebration Event again this year.

The shortlist of 8 beautifully illustrated books for children was announced last week and the Carnegie shadowing website provides a wealth of freely available resources to use with pupils to foster engagement with books and stories. The Yoto Carnegies

Our free event in June provides an opportunity for schools to bring along a group of up to 10 pupils to both share their own work and watch other groups make a short presentation (up to 5 minutes) about one of the books on the shortlist. This could be showing some artwork inspired by the book, a drama, PowerPoint, or spoken presentation. It is a wonderful opportunity for pupils to gain confidence and receive commendation for their effort in a supportive environment. The event is open for pupils from Key Stages 2 and 3 and will be limited to 8 school groups.

Free event to schools, no need to subscribe to Devon SLS.

Free refreshments of cake and strawberries and all participants will receive a certificate!
