Developing shared writing

This course is open to all schools but if you are a Devon maintained school you can book one or more places at the subsidised rate of £35 per person.
Cost for all other schools is £125 per person.

This event is a repeat of the new professional development opportunity from Spring 2024 and is based on materials produced by the DES English team to support schools with improving the teaching of writing with a focus on effective modelling.

Training objectives

The event will: 

  • Explore the research base for the importance of shared writing
  • Explore different models of shared writing 
  • Consider how shared writing can be developed within any sequence of teaching 
  • Provide opportunity to analyse practice with extensive video and classroom material
