Attendance and behaviour (A) (online)

{{ category }}

A brief lunchtime session that will give you an overview of the proposals coming from the DfE.

There is a strong focus from the Department for Education (DfE) for schools and governing boards to prioritise pupil attendance. The department has published guidance ‘working together to improve school attendance’, which is due to become statutory from September 2023.

Following the pandemic attendance has been identified as a concern and schools are being urged to set high expectations for every pupil, communicate those expectations clearly and consistently to pupils and parents, systematically analyse their data to identify patterns to target their improvement efforts, and work effectively with the local authority and other local partners to overcome barriers to attendance.

We will also look at The Department for Educations’(DfE) proposed changes to the requirements relating to school behaviour policies.
