This course is the next step in your development as a governor, and provides the opportunity to reflect on your own practice, as well as learn from others. This course is for experienced governors looking to refresh or update their skills, or those returning to governance after a break. It is the next step in your development as a governor, and provides the opportunity to reflect on your own practice, as well as learn from others. 

Board members are strongly encouraged to attend the relevant ‘introduction to governance’ session prior to attending this training.

The course involves opportunities to share ideas and gives governors the opportunity to look at greater depth in some key areas. A particular focus is on how parent engagement is hugely beneficial to schools and improves the life chances of children within them.
