The making sense of autism training will giving you a better understanding and awareness of autism and the way it affects pupils in school

Basic awareness training for all those engaging with children and young people in schools. This includes governors and leaders, teaching staff, ancillary staff and transport staff.

Training objectives

The training will support participants in:

  • understanding the four key areas of developmental difference experienced by autistic pupils
  • building and promoting positive relationships
  • the importance of understanding the individual pupil and to build upon his/her strengths
  • supporting pupil access to teaching and learning
