Secondary governance - making an impact (online)

This session is suitable for all those involved in governance at a secondary school, whether in a maintained or academy setting.  Clerks and governance professionals are also welcome.  We take a closer look at the specific challenges of ensuring a broad and balanced curriculum in secondary and how boards can measure the impact board decisions have on the pupils in their schools. 

We look at some of the secondary specific terminology, qualifications and hope to demystify some of the ‘edu speak’ around data and options for qualifications.  The session also looks at the increased emphasis on careers education and preparation for the working world.  We also touch on the expectations of Ofsted when they inspect a secondary school, and consider current themes and challenges within the sector.
