Y6 Writing Standardisation and moderation sessions (in-person)

This professional development supports Y6 teacher with making statutory assessments of writing.  These sessions are useful for any Y6 teacher as they provide the opportunity to work outside of your own school, federation or MAT and secure accurate writing assessment judgements.  They are particularly recommended teachers new to Y6 or schools who expect to be externally moderated.  

There will be 2 x afternoon sessions (13:30-16:00pm) delivered in-person and you have a choice of 3 different venues across Devon (The Future Skills Centre in Exeter, Caddsdown in Bideford and Buckfast Abbey Conference Centre in Buckfastleigh). 

The cost to attend is £108 per person.

 

Training objectives

There are two sessions: 

  • Session one will support understanding of the standards at WTS, EXS and GDS using samples of standardised writing
  • Session two will provide a structured opportunity to moderate pupils’ writing with colleagues, supported by the English Team
