Maths subject leadership programme (in-person)

{{ category }}
This programme is open to all schools but if you are a Devon maintained school you can book one or more places at the subsidised rate of £40 per person.
Cost for all other schools is £190 per person.

Face to Face PD programme across four afternoons, is aimed at subject leaders, whatever their experience.  Sessions run from second half of the autumn term to end of spring term with one-to-one support phone calls in the summer term.

The role of the maths subject leader means having responsibility for: developing the quality of teaching and learning; ensuring the curriculum is well sequenced and coherent: managing resources; and having direct leadership responsibility for a number of staff to ensure that together they are able to secure the best outcomes for children in mathematics. Each of the four afternoon sessions is designed to stimulate leadership thinking and develop leadership capacity to support and challenge, in order to secure school improvement in mathematics and develop personal career potential. Subject leaders work with a learning partner and engage in three in-school activities between sessions in their own and their partner’s schools; two of these may need to take place during school time.

Please note that schools and participators must be able to commit to the full programme.  All dates are identified before the start of the programme and we ask that these are protected and any issues communicated before the first session. If a participant does not turn up for a session it will be assumed that they have withdrawn from the programme, unless there has been advance notification.   Participants should also be supported by their school leadership to explore outcomes from the project with other colleagues in their school.
