Carnegie - Secondary events
We are delighted to welcome the award-winning poet and author Luke Palmer to our Carnegie Writing celebration events of 2026. Luke has written three acclaimed books for teens and we are eagerly anticipating his new book, Big Words, soon to be published by Barrington Stoke.
All Devon secondary schools are invited to attend with a small group of pupils to present on their chosen Carnegie shortlisted book.
A £25 deposit will be asked at time of booking. The remainder of the cost will be charged after the events. Spaces are limited so please book soon.
Carnegie Medal for Writing Celebration Events 2026:

The Carnegie Medals are awarded annually by CILIP and the Youth Libraries Group to books for children and young people that create outstanding reading experiences through writing or illustration. Individual titles can be purchased at a saving of 25% off rrp.
