For teachers
Fully adaptable for teachers of all experience levels. We take pride in ensuring the responsibility of teaching music is a joyful and rewarding experience for you and your students.
For learners
Musical achievement relies on hard work and dedication. We ensure students’ musical journeys are about playing and creating music, not reading about others doing it.
A world-leading, configurable music teaching and learning platform
ABRSM is The Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music and a global music education charity. At the heart of everything we do is our belief that music enriches lives. Building on our heritage, we offer face-to-face and digital exams, sheet music, recordings, apps and courses for students and teachers across the world.
In partnership with four Royal Schools of Music, we carry on a long legacy of musical excellence. More than an awarding organisation, we support learners from the first note they play, and empower teachers who help build musical skills and encourage progress around the world.
As a charity, we use all of the surpluses we generate to make significant donations towards music education initiatives and to develop our support for learners and teachers around the world. We advocate for music and its many forms, playing our part to ensure the future of music education and its place in society.
Together with our partners, our teachers and others around the world, we’ve been nurturing the future of music since 1889—to help people start or continue their journey.
Music Teacher magazine is packed with practical ideas, expert insight and trusted resources – everything you need to inspire your teaching, support your students and enrich your music department inside and outside the classroom.
Each issue also includes online teaching resources for classroom teachers and VMTs written by working music educators to fit in with the national curriculum.
Whether you are newly qualified or have years of experience, Music Teacher keeps education practice fresh and engaging with content tailored to the concerns and passions driving today’s educators.

In our 30-minute rock and pop band sessions for primary school children, every week, thousands of children receive a dedicated band session with one of our professional musicians. Playing a variety of instruments, each group of children learns to play instruments as part of a band, encouraging collaboration and working as a team, all whilst levelling up their musical ability and developing a love of music.
PMLL represents the rights of music publishers and issues licences on behalf of the rights-holders permitting the reproduction of printed music in education and other sectors.
The licence allows users to make photocopies of printed music (and digitally downloaded printed music); as well as making further arrangements of legitimately acquired printed music under the terms and conditions of the licences. All state schools in Scotland, England and Northern Ireland have a Schools Printed Music Licence (SPML) purchased centrally for them. Independent sector schools and schools in Wales have different arrangements.
A condition of the licence is that schools register on the PMLL portal and record the copies and arrangements they use in the classroom and with their extra-curricular groups. Our Every Copy Counts campaign and website supports awareness raising of the SPML, hosting a range of information and support tools for teachers alongside some free resources for schools about the music publishing industry.
