Single Central Record (SCR) and personnel files

{{ category }}

The safe recruitment of staff remains a fundamental part of effective safeguarding and a key requirement within Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE). A school's Single Central Record (SCR) is often one of the first safeguarding documents reviewed during an Ofsted inspection, making it essential that it is accurate, compliant and well maintained.

This one-hour online training session is designed for Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSLs), administrators, governors and others responsible for maintaining or monitoring the SCR. It will provide an overview of current KCSIE requirements, explore what an effective SCR should include, and highlight common errors and areas for consideration.

There will be opportunities to ask questions and gain practical advice to help strengthen safer recruitment procedures and ensure your SCR meets statutory requirements.

By the end of the session, delegates will have increased confidence in maintaining a robust and compliant SCR and understanding its role within the wider safeguarding culture.
