Supporting inclusion, equity and inspection ready practice

The 2025 Ofsted inspection framework places a strengthened emphasis on how effectively education providers meet their statutory duties under the Equality Act 2010. Inspectors will closely examine how settings remove barriers to learning, particularly for disadvantaged pupils, and how inclusion is embedded into everyday practice.

This includes scrutiny of:

• Curriculum accessibility and ambition
  
• Early identification of need
  
• The effectiveness of targeted support
  
• How equity, belonging and inclusion translate into improved outcomes

Schools are expected not only to demonstrate compliance, but to show how their approach actively promotes fairness, participation and success for every learner.

How EDEAS can support your school

By working alongside your staff and drawing on our specialist expertise, EDEAS supports schools to strengthen inclusive practice and improve educational outcomes for multilingual and ethnically diverse children, as well as providing wider equality, diversity and inclusion support.

This package includes a year's subscription to EDEAS Connect and advisory consultancy, at a cost averaging less than 6% of the funding a school receives for multilingual learners.

EDEAS Connect 1 year school subscription
All school/setting staff gain access to EDEAS Connect, an online community hub bringing together education professionals committed to improving the lived experiences of diverse learners.

Advisory consultancy support

6 hours of consultancy (option available to all schools and settings) and/or 3 hours of consultancy (option available to primary and EYFS settings only)

Our consultancy provides expert, responsive and context specific support, helping you address challenges, plan inclusively and evidence effective practice.

Consultancy can be used flexibly, including for the following:

• General advice, guidance and professional support
  
• Discussion of individual or cohort concerns and strategies
  
• Contribution to multi agency meetings
  
• Communication support with children and families
  
• Pupil forums to capture the voice of ethnically diverse learners
  
• Child observation for pupils causing concern
  
• Home language communication assessments to support potential SEN identification (requires 6 hours)
  
• Cultural awareness guidance
  
• Advice on home language GCSEs
  
• Bespoke training, webinars or professional development
  
• Support with inclusive interventions and provision
  
• Attendance guidance, including use of the ‘T’ code
  
• Policy review and development
  
• Support with setting and reviewing Equality Objectives
  
• Identification of priorities for your School Improvement Plan
  
• Incident management support and guidance

You may also use consultancy hours to arrange Bilingual support in the classroom,  support for home language GCSEs and SATS, as well as using our interpreting and translation service.

Devon maintained schools receive support as part of their funded offer. Torbay LA has now also invested in support for Torbay maintained schools. Therefore, Devon and Torbay maintained schools have funded access to EDEAS Connect and consultancy and you aren’t required to purchase this.
