Reading Fluency Intervention (MAT/Federation model) - core training charge

The Reading Fluency Intervention is an evidence-based project run by Devon Education Services which is currently undergoing efficacy trials with the EEF through HFL.

It can be implemented in any year group from Y2-Y11. This teacher-led, eight-week group intervention is designed to improve comprehension and fluency, with consistently impressive outcomes. Teachers also learn to apply effective fluency strategies more broadly.

Pupils are assessed at the beginning and end of the intervention using the York Assessment of Reading Comprehension (YARC) test.

Our training/support package includes: 

• 2 hour online introduction and YARC assessment training session
• Full day’s training for 2 staff members per school
• 2 hour visit in each school from an English team adviser for teaching support
• Mid-point and final review (two 1 hour sessions online)
• YARC assessment materials, marking and analysis by the DES English team

Core training charge = £1900 +VAT
Additional cost of £390 +VAT per participating school
