Becca Rogers

Becca Rogers

Becca Rogers grew up in rural Devon, an avid reader in a house full of folk music and books. She now lives by a tidal estuary and writes full time.

Her debut middle grade, The Girl with Gills, was published in July 2025 by Zephyr / Bloomsbury to wide critical acclaim and longlisted for the prestigious Branford Boase Award.

Her next middle grade adventure, Scamp Saltbrace and the Tidal Clock, is published in July 2026 and is described by Abi Elphinstone as 'Wonderfully imagined and brilliantly told,' and by Jasbinder Bilan as 'Vivid, fun and teetering on wild.' Heavily inspired by the Westcountry coastline, expect mermaids, smugglers, and a clock that controls the sea! Becca's work blends magic and realism, creating big-hearted adventures that resonate with young readers. Becca offers assemblies and workshops for KS2 children, with a focus on creative writing, and would be delighted to work with schools in Devon.
