Introducing Iain Stevens – Strategy and Delivery Lead, Devon Education Services

I’m Iain Stevens, and I’m delighted to have recently joined Devon Education Services as the Strategy and Delivery Lead. I stepped into the role in January, bringing experience from a range of civil service positions, as well as earlier years spent working within education in Somerset. Returning to the education sector feels incredibly meaningful to me, and I’m thrilled to be supporting the work you do.

At DES, our purpose is clear: to help schools and settings across Devon — and the many we work with beyond the county — to thrive. My commitment is to ensure that the services we provide remain high‑quality, responsive, and genuinely aligned to the challenges and priorities you face every day.

One of my immediate focuses has been finalising this year’s DES Directory, which we are aiming to share around February half term. This year’s edition is designed to give even clearer guidance on how DES can support your improvement priorities, your teams, and ultimately the children and young people you work with.

I’m very much looking forward to meeting many of you over the coming months and working together to strengthen the support available to all our schools and settings.
