Early Years and Childcare: Multi-Agency Safeguarding and Child Protection (Group 3 Core)

Who should attend?

This multi-agency training is for Early Years Educators with designated child protection responsibilities in group-based early years and childcare settings and childminders. Other Early Years Educators should attend the Safeguarding and Child Protection core (all early years and childcare practitioners). This multi-agency training replaces the Enhanced training that is no longer being delivered.

Course delivery and pre-course learning:

The training will comprise of a 5.5 hour session delivered virtually through Zoom. To complete the training, delegates must also have completed the following:

• LADO video learning: EYCS: Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO) online learning | DES

• Safeguarding awareness eLearning: Early Years and Childcare: Safeguarding and Child Protection Core (all early years and childcare practitioners) online learning course | DES or DfE Safeguarding Children and Babies in Early Years Settings (eLearning)

• Prevent duty training - GOV.UK 

• Big Quiz

You will be sent details of how to access the Zoom link on the Dialogue website 7 days before the virtual session.

How to access the pre-course learning:

For the courses on the Shop (LADO and Core eLearning) log into your shop account first and then click on the course links and add them to your basket and checkout. Even though they are fully funded you will still need to click ‘buy now’ and add them to your basket and checkout. Once you have ‘purchased’ them, they should be available in your profile under the ‘my online courses’ tab.

The prevent training and the DfE children and babies eLearning take you to external websites, so follow the instructions on the websites.  

The Big Quiz takes you to an online form to complete before the virtual session.

Is there a charge to attend?

The training is fully funded for the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) and Deputy DSL, this includes childminders (x2 places per setting are funded). If you require additional places please contact [email protected] as the charge will be £75 per person.
