The aim of the course is to explore in detail the key theories and legislation which underpin the importance of, and need for providing the opportunity and space for children's play, Including play cues, play principles and types of play to help you to support the children in your settings, whilst considering the impact of the playworker on their play and the play space. This is a face to face session.
Participants will be given the opportunity to participate in activities which will underpin this knowledge and how this can then be transferred into their own setting.
Open to all practitioners who working the out of school sector i.e.; breakfast club, after school club, holiday club, wraparound provision and HAF provision. The focus of this course is to work with children from reception to year six.
Practitioners may also want to undertake the 3 hour Playtime training, which is an introductory course, but this is not essential as the course can be undertaken as a stand alone course.
