Introduction to school governance in an academy trust (trustees and directors) (A)

This session provides an introduction for those new to governance and is tailored for those governing within an academy trust at the Trust board level.

We will talk about the role of school governance and consider the principles of corporate and strategic governance, delegation and confidentiality. We will specifically look at the trust board role and the mandatory compliance and areas of risk management required to be considered by board members.  The online session is fully interactive and will provide you with the opportunity to pose questions and receive answers.

This training is focused on governance on a Trust board (both single and multi-academy trusts); and can be complemented by additionally attending the face-to-face session.  The online session will help you get to grips with your role and fire you with enthusiasm, the face-to-face session will additionally allow you to network with others in school governance and deepen your knowledge.
