High-quality teaching and learning in primary RE (in-person)

{{ category }}

This full day of high quality RE inset will update primary teachers and leaders on current issues and approaches in RE. It will explore the way the new RE syllabus can be used to create outstanding progress in RE, discussing how to plan a sequenced curriculum that suits your setting. Delegates will be introduced to new Oak Academy, Understanding Muslims and Global Christianity resources which are a good complement the local syllabus.

We will be exploring the use of disciplinary characters to develop ‘ways of knowing’, enabling pupils to ‘think like a philosopher/theologian/social scientist’.

We will also be looking at some of the key recommendations coming from the 2024 Ofsted RE subject report and exploring what this tells us about how to teach excellent RE.
