Option 1: Early Years and Childcare: Preparing to be a Childminder (virtual)

{{ category }}

The childminder sessions will provide you with the information that you will need to decide childminding is for you. It includes who needs to register, what you need to consider, set up costs, being self-employed, the Early Years Foundation Stage, Ofsted’s role, signposting to further training and documents and where you can get support.

Did you know that as part of the new flexibilities for childminders, you can register as a ‘childminder without domestic premises’ which is a childminder who works solely from somewhere other than a home, like a community or village hall?

The training will consist of a 4 hour virtual session (delivered through Microsoft Teams).

You will need to have a copy of the EYFS handy for this session. You can download it here: Early years foundation stage statutory framework for childminders

You will need to join the session on a laptop/computer/tablet - please do not join by phone as you will not be able to fully engage with the session.

The session will provide you with the opportunity to ask questions and discuss your childminding plans with our experienced course tutors.
