Federation Networking Event (A) (in person)

This in person event provides an opportunity for board members, chairs, headteachers and clerks/governance professionals to meet colleagues from other federations across Devon.  Those considering forming, or joining, a federation are also very welcome to attend to gain an understanding for how federation leadership and governance works.  With ample time for networking and discussion, we will compare and contrast how boards in different federations manage their workload so we can learn from each other.  The discussion will focus on topics suggested by delegates (you will be asked for any themes your federation would like to cover as part of the morning ahead of the session.)  Boards are very welcome to send more than one delegate, and/or attend as a Head/Chair/Clerk trio.

Topics are likely to include:

• Managing effective (and timely) meetings
• Headteacher/Head of School reporting mechanisms
• School visits and board knowledge of all the schools in the federation
• Could/should our federation grow?
• What is working well with our governance structure and what could be even better?
• How do others approach………?
