Every child thriving in an education setting every day

Join us for our annual SEND conference at Sandy Park, Exeter, where we will be exploring Devon’s new education strategy and what this means for our learners and families with SEND.

Keynote speakers:

  • We are delighted that Gary Aubin (Head of SEND at Future Academies, EEF SEND associate, author of The Lone SENCo) will be one of our keynote speakers this year. He is well known for his work around the inclusion of children with SEND in mainstream schools and his use of evidence-based research (such as the EEF 5 a day principle) to support pupils engage successfully in the classroom.
  • Hear from Chris Bonnello (autistic advocate , writer, speaker, trainer and former teacher), who will discuss the art of accommodating young autistic people the way they deserve and he will offer insights into how to help them navigate a system that was largely built without them in mind

Workshops will be focused on practical ideas for broadening and developing our universal provision to meet the increasingly complex and diverse needs within our mainstream classes, the importance of relational approaches in settings, and the new attendance strategy and its implications for pupils with SEND.

This conference is for all school leaders, including SENCos, working across all settings who wish to be inspired and energised to continue striving to improve and better the lived experiences and outcomes for our CYP with SEND and their families.
